Privacy Policy

Found NZ — Effective 12 July 2026

The short version: Found NZ has no user accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you. The small amount of data the app does handle exists to make the app work, and nothing else.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Found NZ. Found NZ is a mobile application that helps people discover activities across New Zealand. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what happens to it.

By using Found NZ, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have questions, you can contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this document.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

Found NZ requests access to your device's location (GPS) solely to calculate drive times from your current location to activities near you. Location data is:

Recently calculated drive times are cached on your device so they don't need to be recalculated; this cache stays on your device and expires automatically.

2.2 Subscription and Purchase Information

Found NZ requires a subscription, which is purchased through, and billed entirely by, Apple. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple processes all payments.

This information is used only to unlock the app for subscribers and restore purchases on new devices. It is not linked to your personal identity and is not used for advertising or tracking.

2.3 Feedback You Send Us

If you choose to send feedback or report an issue through the app, we store what you submit in our database so we can review and act on it. A feedback submission contains:

Feedback is anonymous — it includes no name, email address, account, or device identifier. Please don't include personal information in the message itself unless you want us to see it (for example, an email address if you'd like a reply).

5. Data Storage and Security

Your preferences and cached drive times are stored locally on your device, protected by your device's built-in security (encryption, passcode, Face ID/Touch ID).

The only user-provided data stored on our servers is feedback you choose to submit. Subscription state is held by RevenueCat and Apple under an anonymous identifier. All communication between the app and these services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

6. Children's Privacy

Found NZ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us so we can address the issue promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Location Permissions

You can withdraw location access at any time through your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Found NZ. The app will continue to function without location access, though drive time estimates will not be available.

7.2 Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

7.3 Feedback

If you would like feedback you submitted to be deleted, email us with the approximate date and content of your submission and we will remove it.

7.4 Clearing Preferences

Your on-device preferences can be cleared by uninstalling the app. There is no account to delete because we do not create accounts.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Found NZ after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
